Migrating from Postman

Migrating from Postman to Requestly is simple. Export your collections and environments from Postman, then import them into Requestly to seamlessly continue API testing and development.

Export Collections

  1. Open Postman and in the left sidebar click on collections tab to view the list of all collections. Select the collections you want to export by clicking on the . This will open a dropdown menu, in the menu click on Export.

  1. A popup will appear, choose any format from Collection V2 or Collection V2.1. Then click on Export

Export Environments

  1. Open Postman, and in the left sidebar, click on the environments tab to view the list of all environments. Select the environments you want to export by clicking on the . This will open a dropdown menu. In the menu, click on Export.

  2. After clicking on export, choose the location where you want to save the file and click on Save.

Import collections and environments

You can upload all your exported collections and environments at once to Requestly, rather than individually.

  1. Open Requestly, and navigate to API Client

  2. Click on the Import button located on the sidebar header. From the import options, select Postman.

  3. This opens an upload modal. Upload the collections and environments files that you want to import.

  4. Click on import after the processing of export file is completed, and thats it!

Bulk Data dump from Postman

You can also export a dump of all your collections and environments in Postman. Check the instructions on how to export the dump from Postman.

To export the dump from Postman:

  • Click on the Profile icon on top-right, then select Settings.

  • Select the Account tab and then click on Export Data.

  • This takes you to your Export request history. Click on Export Data.

  • A popup appears where you can choose if you want to export all collections, all environments, or both. After choosing your preference, click on Request Data Export.

To import the dump in Requestly:

  • Download the dump export file. This is a zip folder, so unzip it.

  • Follow the same import instructions by selecting the collections and environment files you want to import.
